I would like to point out that as far as I'm aware, I coined the term "Constructive Pessimist" conversationally sometime around 2006, and started this blog in 2011, so I imagine that at least one other person has coined the phrase independently.
I have some hand written notes on my take on the idea, so I may dig them up and publish them as I'm on break between semesters for a couple of weeks.
I imagine no-one's reading this, but game theory would describe this as a win / break even scenario.
If a tree screams as it falls, it doesn't matter if no-one hears it.
